Police destroys opium crop in Manjakote, one booked

RAJOURI, May 8:  The Rajouri police today destroyed illegally grown opium crop at  Gambhir Mughlan village of Manjakote tehsil and registered a case against a local person.
Information regarding this  illegal cultivation of opium crop was received by Rajouri police after which a team of police headed by SDPO Manjakote, Imtiyaz Ahmed and SHO Manjakote Ajaz Haider accompanied by Executive Magistrate was framed and rushed to the spot and after hours long operation, entire opium crop was destroyed.
A local person, namely- Mohammed Shabir,  son of Nasib Din, resident of Gambhir Mughlan, Manjakote has been booked in a case FIR 33/2018, U/S  8/18 NDPS Act in PS Manjakote. The police parties were conducting raids to nab the accused person.
The  police has appealed  people to help in action against people who cultivate opium crop and the information in this regard can be shared with SSP Rajouri and the identity of the person who shares information will be kept totally secret.
