JAMMU, Dec 14: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua, M K Hanjura today rejected the bail applications of Rashpal Singh and Jatinder Singh, who were arrested on November 19, 2011 in NDPSA case.
According to the police report, on November 19, 2012, the petitioners namely Rashpal Singh and Jatinder Singh were on a scooter. On reaching near the petrol pump at Kali Bari, they were signaled to stop by the police party. However, they tried to give them a slip but were nabbed.
On the search of the scooter, police recovered 1800 intoxicant capsules and accordingly a case under NDPS Act was registered against them.
While rejecting the bail application of both the accused, Principal Sessions Judge M K Hanjura observed, “the accused were in possession of 1800 capsules which falls within the scales of commercial quantity and this attracts the bar created by the Section 37 of NDPS Act. Therefore the applications of both the petitioners are dismissed”.
