One killed, four injured as car hits truck

JAMMU, May 8: One person was killed while four others were injured tonight when a speeding car hit a truck in Narwal area of city outskirts.
“A speeding i10 car tonight at about 8:45 hit a stationary truck from backside at National Highway on Rajeev Nagar bridge in Narwal area”, a police official said, adding, in the mishap, all the five persons travelling in the car received serious injuries.
He said that all the injured were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where one of the injured namely Rahul (27) son of Krishan Kumar, resident of Roop Nagar, was declared as brought dead by the doctors. He further informed that out of four other injured persons, one is critical while condition of other three were stated to be stable.
The official said that the injured persons were identified as Umar (25) son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Pulwama, Vivek Bhatt (20) son of Kuldeep Bhatt of Durga Nagar (Jammu), Anirudh (21) son of Neeraj Mahajan of Peer Mitha and Akhil (20) son of Nalin Dhar of Patoli, Jammu.
“In this connection, a case has been registered at concerned police station investigations started’, he added.
