NEW DELHI, May 10: Castor seed prices rose by Rs 13 to Rs 4,040 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created positions amid strong demand at the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castor seed for delivery in May contracts improved by Rs 13 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 4,040 per quintal, with an open interest of 13,090 lots.
The delivery of June advanced by Rs 9 or 0.22 per cent to Rs 4,090 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 92,730 lots.
Market players said building up of positions in tune with a firm trend at the physical markets on strong demand amid restricted arrivals from producing areas, led to the rise in castor seed prices at futures trade here. (PTI)
