Sir,
This has reference to the news item, ‘CM calls for ceasefire, implementation of AoA’… DE May 10.
It is quite heart warming gesture that all State political parties discussed the present political scenario in the State, with the aim of diffusing the tense situation in the State. The resolution of the crisis can be possible only, if a holistic approach is adopted vis-a-vis Kashmir issue.
Mere implementation of Agenda of Alliance (AoA) will not be helpful. The political parties must appeal and use their political clout to persuade agitating youth to sheen militancy. The general public too must not indulge in stone pelting when any encounter is on.
Though Chief Minister has called for ceasefire during the Ramdan month to allow people observe the holy month in a peaceful environment, besides ensuring trouble free Amarnath Yatra. But, why ceasefire for only month? There is need to continue this ceasefire for ever to allow life function normal. But it will be an utopian idea unless all parties pursue the cause sincerely.
The Government of India can’t allow the situation go adrift, but must make sincere and serious efforts to resolve the issue.
A casual approach will only precipitate the situation, further, and which will not be in the interest of the country.
Yours etc…
Ajit Manhas
