Bhamag road craving for blacktopping

UDHAMPUR, May 13: Bhamag road in district Udhampur is craving for blacktopping for last several years.
The condition of the road is in worst condition but unfortunately this is not visible to concerned MLAs and MPs, who only come to the poor masses of Panchari, Lander and Bhamag only during election time to seek votes.
According to local residents, Panchari, Lander, Bhamag (PLB) comprising of three constituencies are still lacking the facility of drinking water, electricity and better road connectivity. To fetch drinking water, villagers have to travel 4 to 5 km to collect muddy water from nallahs or from rivers which is a health hazard. The people of the rural villages of these three constituencies are seen collecting drinking water from muddy sources in this modern era of technology and development of 21st Century.
People of erstwhile Udhampur district particularly Kainthgali, Bhamag, Panchari, Kultyar, Latyar, Lander, Dandota, Sadhota, Badhota, Galiote, upper Galiote and other adjoining areas are demanding the better road connectivity, electrification to all villages, hassle free supply of drinking water and essential commodities from State and Central Governments.
Youths of far flung area said, from time to time several politicians have fooled our three panchayats of far flung area in Reasi constituency and promised us that they will fulfill their demands after elections but once they got the vote and become MLAs, MPs and Ministers, they did not return to these far flung areas till the next election. “The problems and demands remain unsolved and unfulfilled. Poor and downtrodden people are crying and trying to raise their voice, but their voices remain unheard”, they added.
