Excelsior Correspondent
BILLAWAR, May 13: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has said that remarks of Assembly Speaker, Dr Nirmal Singh on Army were unacceptable.
While addressing a large gathering at Darung in Billawar today, Dr Sharma expressed his anger and deep concern on the irresponsible statement issued by Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh. It is noteworthy to mention here that  Dr Nirmal Singh quoted recently  that Indian Army is harassing  civilians in the State.
Dr Sharma strongly condemned and questioned the credibility of such statements . He said that Indian Army is one of the best defence forces of the world and has served the Nation not only in situations of internal or external threat but also spearheaded relief and rescue  operations during natural calamities.
He said n militancy hit state of J&K it’s only due to the defence forces that situation is under control. He expressed dismay that instead of expressing gratitude for the services and extreme sacrifice of our forces such derogatory statements of BJP Leaders expose their fake nationalist ideology and should be opposed by every section of society.
Dr Sharma expressed surprise on the silence of  Central BJP leadership on this statement, that has not only tarnished pseudo nationalist propoganda of BJP but also demoralised the moral of Army . He said Centre should clear it’s stand on this and must take strict disciplinary action to prevent any such misleading statements by BJP state leaders.
