KISHTWAR, May 14: Daily rated and casual employees of PHE Department held a protest against the Government demanding implementation of SRO 520 meant for 60,000 casual employees of the State in order to hike their salaries as well considering them permanent employees of the department.
The employees blocked the main road near Dak Bungalow for couple of hours and raised slogans in favour their demands. Due to blockade, the vehicular movement also got effected.
They urged upon the Government to redress their issues at the earliest otherwise their protest will continue till the final result in favour of employees.
The protesters said that Government has been ignoring their demands since long and now they will not bow down to the atrocities of Government and will fight till the justice is delivered.
“The whole country is enjoying the benefits of 7th pay Commission but we are not even paid for the months together. We are on the verge of starvation. We appeal to Government to mend its ways otherwise we will go for indefinite hunger strike with our families and for any untoward incident, the Government will be responsible”, they added.
