Course on ‘Investigation of TAC’ concludes

UDHAMPUR, Dec 15: Six-day course on ‘Investigation of Traffic Accident Cases (TAC)’ sponsored by BPR&D, New Delhi, which was started in the Police Training Institution (PTI) on December 10, concluded today with valedictory address of Parminder Singh, DIG, Joint Director, SKPA, Udhampur.
Speaking on the occasion Singh laid emphasis on the need of strict implementation of traffic laws and directions of Supreme Court of India related to traffic management and road traffic accidents. He asked the participating officers that apart from implementation of traffic laws there is a dire need of making aware the society at large to follow the traffic rules to minimize the fatalities.
The course was inaugurated by Additional District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur, Mohinder Kumar Sharma, who stressed about the flaws found in investigations relating to traffic accident cases during judicial determination in courts of law and recent Supreme Court guidelines, which are mandatory for police to be adopted during investigations.
The objective of the course was to make aware the officers of Police Department about the purposeful skills adopted during the investigations and flaws found in the investigations relating to traffic accident cases during judicial determination in court of law.
The six-day course witnessed a number of lectures by different guests faculties including HK Lohia, IGP/ Director SSG, Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo, Transport Commissioner, J&K, Rajesh Yadav, DIG, North Kashmir, Mubashir Latifie, SSP Rajouri, Mahadev Singh, SP (retd), Dr Haseeb Mughal, SP, CID, SB Kashmir, Habib -Ullah Rishi, Mechanical Engineer, SRTC, Jammu, and many others.
During the course, the participants took part in discussions and sought clarifications on different issues related to traffic accident cases including causes and consequences of road traffic accidents, road safety measures in the State, traffic engineering and its relationship with road traffic accidents, first aid to RTA victims, etc.
