Stolen ornaments worth Rs 65,000 recovered

JAMMU, Dec 15: A theft case was successfully worked out by Miran Sahib police by recovering the stolen ornaments amounting to Rs 65000 from the accused, a police spokesperson said.
He said that a case FIR No 144/2012 U/S 381/RPC P/S Miran Sahib was registered on December 12, 2012 on the complaint of Kamlesh Kour wife of Balbir residence of Kirpind, who had reported that her gold ornaments had been stolen by someone after breaking the lock of Almirah.
Acting on the complaint, Miran Sahib police led by Sub-Inspector Ravi Singh, SHO Police Station Miran Sahib under the close supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Dewakar Singh and SP Headquarters, Jammu, Shailender Singh, conducted enquiries and arrested a suspect namely Ram Pyari, a maid in the house of complainant, he informed.
After sustained questioning, Ram Pyari broke down and confessed her involvement in the case following which the police recovered all the stolen ornaments from her possession, he added.
