Kashmir-Delhi drugs cartel busted, one arrested with cannabis

JAMMU, May 25: The sleuths of Special Operation Group (SOG) and Gangyal Police Station busted a Kashmir-Delhi drugs cartel with the arrest of a drug peddler along with five kilograms of cannabis.
According to SP Operations Vinay Sharma, on specific information, the sleuths of SOG and Gangyal Police Station laid a naka at Kunjwani and intercepted a Delhi bound bus bearing registration number JK02Y-0664.
During checking, the sleuths recovered five kilograms of cannabis from the possession of a Kashmir based drug peddler, who was smuggling the consignment to New Delhi, SP Operation informed.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Hassan Khan, son of Habibullah Khan, a resident of district Kupwara, SP said, adding that with his arrest, police busted the drugs cartel operation between Kashmir and New Delhi.
A case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali made the arrest along with sleuths of SOG under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP Operations Vinay Sharma, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
