Punjabi Lekhak Sabha organizes literary meet

JAMMU, May 28: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS), Jammu organized its fortnightly literary meet at Tagore Academy, Rani Talab, Digiana, Jammu.
Didar Singh, a renowned Hindi and Punjabi writer and former Dy Director Doordarshan, presided over the meeting. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, former president, PLS, presented a welcome address and threw light on the future activities of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu.
A session of poetry, short story and essay recitation was conducted wherein Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, Devinder Singh Vishav-nagrik, Pritam Singh Anjaan, Amar Singh Kuka, Piara Singh Dhanjal, Kulwant Singh (from Kashmir), Rahi Simbalpuria, Resham Kaur, Nirmal Vinod, Jang S Verman and Harjit Singh Uppal presented their work.
The read out the items aimed at raising issues of social awareness, values and satire on the prevailing conditions and the political system. An essay by Dr Pritam Singh on the changing scenario of rural life was also read out by him.
Discussion on the items presented also  took place in which Paiara Singh Dhanjal, Rajinder Singh, Devinder Singh Vishav-nagrik and Dr Baljeet Singh Raina expressed their views.
Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina extended the vote of thanks.
