JAMMU, Dec 17: Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered one and half kilograms of charas from his possession.
Police spokesman said that, on a tip-off, police intercepted a passenger carrying winger car bearing registration number JK12-1774 from Banihal to Jammu at a checkpoint in Panjtirthi area.
During searches, 1.5 kg of charas was recovered from one of the passenger identified as Imran Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohd Bhat, resident of Kulgam, Srinagar, spokesman added.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Pacca Danga Police Station and investigations started.
