PUNE, Dec 17: The well known writer, director and film personality Pran Kishore has expressed his grave concern over titling of newly produced Kashmiri –Dogri film as ‘Gul Gulshan Gulfam’ which is the title of his popular Kashmiri novel published in the year 2008.
In a statement issued here today Pran Kishore said before publication, a series based on the novel and scripted by him was produced by Cine Vistas Ltd and telecast on Doordarshan’s National Channel, which became a landmark in Indian television.
He said, the serial, was later televised by quite a few prominent television networks abroad. By naming his Dogri and Kashmiri film as Gul Gulshan Gulfam it is presumed that the producer wanted to take advantage of the popularity of the novel, which has nothing to do with the film, the statement added.
Terming it an infringement of the Copyright Act the statement said this amounts to cheating the audience. Mr Kishore has also warned to serve a legal notice to the producer separately.
