RAJOURI, Dec 17: Minister of State for Power, Forest, CA&PD and Transport, Shabir Ahmed Khan today kick started the construction work of 6 kilometer Ladyal-Gambair Gali road, which would go through via Marain and Chathroo villages. The construction work of this road would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.50 crore.
The Minister also inspected pace of progress of under execution 4KMs Kalali- Jamola-ladyal road, being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.61 crore, of which Rs. 1.50 crore have been incurred on its construction.
Addressing public meeting after kick starting the construction work on Ladyal-Gambair Gali road at border villages Ladyal and Jamola, the Minister said that the Coalition Government during last over three years fulfilled most promises of the people made in election manifesto by taking bold and revolutionary initiatives for improving basic amenities under core sectors with a thrust in far-flung and hilly areas.
The Minister said that due to the strenuous efforts of the Mr. Omar led Government Rajouri district like other districts of the State is also marching fast towards peace and prosperity. He said that up- gradation of road connectivity is vital for social-economic transformation of rural areas, adding that at present construction work on several roads in the district with the assistance of flag ship programmes like PMGSY are apace, which are being completed in time bound manner.
Mr. Shabir while enumerating some revolutionary steps taken by the government for sustainable development of far-off and border areas of the district said that recently Police Sub divisional Office and Treasury Office have been established in Manjakote block which facilitate the people of the area in providing better policing and money transaction.
