Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces personnel hold protest, project demands

JAMMU, May 30: Dema-nding redressal to their issues, Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association held protest, here today.
A large number of Ex-Central Paramilitary personnel assembled near Exhibition Ground here and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While addressing the gathering, Shashi Kumar Sharma, President of the Association said that they joined the paramilitary forces and served the nation at par with Army.
“The Central Government granted OROP only for the armed forces of the defence depriving the paramilitary forces”, he said, adding that like army, paramilitary forces personnel also serve the nation, but they have been deprived of OROP.
If the Government failed to redress our issues including OROP, MSP and grade pay, then we will boycott the 2019 parliamentary elections”, Sharma said, adding that Director General of Paramilitary Forces have also failed to think about the problems being faced by the widows and dependents of the personnel serving in paramilitary forces.
He said that the elected MLAs, MPs, Rajya Sabha members and MLCs speaks only for 2 minutes and are taking salary of Rs 2 lakh per month with 50 per cent pensionary benefits, but those, who are defending the nation are protesting to get their demands redressed.
Sharma appealed to the Government to redress the genuine demands of the paramilitary forces personnel.
Among others present were Dalip Singh, Vice President, DK Bhagat, General Secretary, Mahinder Singh, Joint Secretary, Janak Raj, Cashier, Khushal Singh Vist and Gurbachan Singh, District President Samba.
