JAMMU, Dec 17: A meeting of All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Vijay Aima its vice president discussed the problems being faced by the displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Addressing the meeting Mr Aima stressed on the need of joint struggle to solve the serious problems, which consistently remain overlooked by administrative and governing bodies at the state as well as Central level.
He said till a joint struggle is launched for redressal of demands, the community will continuously be marginalized. The non-seriousness of the respective governments can be gauged through the slumberous approach of the authorities over the long pending demand of enhancement of cash relief, he added.
He said due to financial problems the displaced children and old aged persons are worst sufferers as it takes huge amount for providing quality education for which the Pandits are known for and for purchase of life saving drugs for the aged and ailing persons.
He urged the Jammu Unit of AIKS to multiple their efforts for broad basing the Samaj’s spectrum as even after the 22 years of forced exile, the pain of the community has not been lessened and the sorrowful cries are heard unabated. Instead of healing touch the exiled Pandits are receiving apathetic and abashing response, added Mr Aima.
Addressing the meeting A K Raina another vice president also highlighted various problems of the newly appointed employed youth serving in Kashmir Valley under difficult conditions. They face enormous problems in schooling their children in the hostile atmosphere, he added.
He stressed the community youth to work for the preservation of inherited culture so that the community will not face cultural cleansing. Aryan Ramesh, secretary AIKS demanded immediate shifting of Government Higher Secondary School (Migrants) Mishriwala to non camp area.
