24 injured as school buses collide

SAMBA, Dec 17: At least twenty four children were injured after two buses of different schools collided  and one of them rolled down the road near Abtal village in Ramgarh area of district Samba this morning.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when the buses of M V International School at 17 Miles and Guru Nanak Dev Public Higher Secondary School, Ramgarh  collided near Abtal village this morning.  The buses bearing registration No. Jk02AM/5525  and JK-21/9970 were moving in the opposite direction. After mishap one of them rolled down in the fields.
Twenty four teachers including a driver and teacher were injured in the accident. After coming to know about the mishap, the people of the area, children’s parents and the police reached the spot. They shifted the injured  to Vijaypur and Samba hospitals.
The injured have been identified as Anju Bala from Abtal, Anjali Rattn from Chak Jawahar, her sister Akshmi Rattn, Rekha Devi from Dug Channi, Manish Rattn, Rakesh Rattn, Govind Vasa, Nisha, Parveen Kumari, Girdhara Singh ( driver) from Kullian, Sourav from Radwan, Vishali, Kamaljeet from Abtal and Saneep Kour from Jerda. Some of the injured were discharged after providing first aid at Vijaypur hospital.
