Death of young housewife: Family members allege murder

JAMMU, Dec 17: Smelling some foul play in mysterious death of young housewife Neetu Gupta, who was found drowned in underground water tank at the house of her in-laws at Bakshi Nagar, family members of the deceased from parental side held a strong protest, here today.
Shouting slogans and demanding registration of murder case, they staged a protest in front of the house of in-laws of the deceased. They alleged that death of Neetu was not an accident but murder by her in-laws.
As reported by the Excelsior, Neetu Gupta, 35, wife of Sandeep Gupta of Bakshi Nagar, was  found drowned in an underground water tank in the house of her-laws. A Board of doctors conducted postmartem of body of the deceased while a case under relevant section has been registered in this regard at Bakshi Nagar Police Station for further investigation.
The protesting family members of the deceased alleged that police was trying to shield in-laws of Neetu who was murdered and thrown into the water tank.
The protesters dispersed off after police officials reached the spot and assured that necessary action would be  taken after outcome of the post martem report.
