UDHAMPUR, May 31: Udhampur Police today recovered 10.3 grms of contraband substance (Chitta) from a narcotic smuggler, who was arrested near Slathia Chowk.
A police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspr Sanjeev Gupta , laid a naka at Slathia Chowk Udhampur and apprehended the suspected person namely Rahil Deep, son of Gopal Krishan of Barrian, Ward No. 05, Udhampur. During thorough search of the said suspect, 10.3 gms of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from his possession. Police arrested the accused and seized the contraband.
In this connection, a case FIR number 231/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police is also working on the involvement of other inter-State and intra-State narcotic smugglers in this illegal drug nexus so as to end this menace from district Udhampur and its surrounding areas.
