SRINAGAR, June 5; Seven unemployed members of Safai Karmachari class, physically disabled and backward classes categories, hailing from Shopian, Pulwama and Srinagar districts of Kashmir Division, have been provided loan by Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited to set up own earning units as per their capability and desire.
The Vice-Chairperson of the Corporation, Balbir Ram Rattan, along with officials, handed over Payment Authority Letters (PALs) to the unemployed males and females of Shopian, Pulwama and Srinagar under Direct Financing Scheme at Corporation Camp Office, here today.
Balbir Ram also interacted with these beneficiaries and stressed upon them to immediately establish their units and put their best efforts to be successful entrepreneurs. He said that the Government at the Centre and in the State has launched a number of welfare schemes for the benefit of the members of the weaker sections and the unemployed people should avail the benefits to convert their poverty into prosperity. He also asked them to be regular in paying back the installments of the loaned money.
The beneficiaries who were handed over PALs by Vice-Chairperson included Mohmmed Amin Mochi, Gulam Mohammed Sheikh, Firdous Ahmed Sheikh, Abida Banoo, Mukhtiar Ahmed, Manzor Ahmed and Abdul Hameed Hajaim. They will set up their units of willow work, shawl embroidery, Karyana store, crewel embroidery and barber shop.
Corporation Divisional Manager, Kashmir, Arshad Majid Bhat, Manager Finance, Anil Gupta, Srinagar District Manager, Arif Haleem Khan, Accountant, Kashmir Division, Babar Bashir Wani and Shopian Field Supervisor, Zulfiqar Ali Kawa were present on the occasion.
