SRINAGAR, June 5: Wife of an Army officer and driver were killed in road mishap while his daughter and son were critically injured after a vehicle in which they were travelling met with an accident near Kharu in Chumathang area of Leh today.
An Army vehicle was carrying wife, son and daughter of Commanding Officer (CO) of 6/11 GR and the vehicle skidded off the road and fell in a gorge. The wife of the officer and the driver died on the spot.
The two children of the CO who were also travelling with mother were injured. The CO’s 12 year old son and two Army men are critical and were evacuated by chopper to Leh. However, daughter has been admitted in a Kharu hospital and she is said to be stable.
