Pensioners’ deputation calls on RTO

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Dec 18: All J&K Pensioners Association has urged the RTO Jammu to get the boards installed on  roadsides mentioning distance from one place to another within the city.
The demand was made by a deputation of the pensions, led by Madan Lal Abrol, who called on  the RTO here today.
Mr Abrol alleged that the minibus operators were charging more fare from the passengers by ignoring the fact that actual distance between Parade and  Rehari via Medical College, Shalimar to University, and Jewel to Panjtirthi was less than three kilometers. He stressed that a fresh survey on the distance between these points should be made by the transport authorities as was done by the former RTO. He also urged  the authorities to ensure that autorikshaw operators  do charge the fare strictly as per the meters.
The pensioners deputation comprised of Yoginder Lal, Jagdish Dogra, Yash Paul, Subash, M L Dogra and others.
