Reasi, Dec 18: To take forward financial inclusion initiative of Govt of India and RBI with a focus on employment as well as income generation, SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBIRSETI) Reasi conducted a week long training programme on “Mushroom Cultivation”.
Twenty two youth, both male and female, hailing from remote areas like Chasana, Judda, Mahore, Sujandhar, Bhamla etc, participated in the programme.
The programme was organized in collaboration with Agriculture Department of J & K. The Institute also arranged a field visit to “Mushroom Farm” at Gran More to ensure that trainees get on-site exposure for practical implementation
At its Valedictory function today, the chief guest R K Safaya, Chief Agriculture Officer, distributed certificates amongst the passed out trainees.
S K Kandroo, Director of the Institute pointed out that since Reasi district, barring Katra town, does not offer much potential for industries and bigger businesses, youth must exploit their natural agriculture skills and take up agriculture related activities to generate their own self employment and eventual income. He assured of his full support in establishing and financing of their units.
R L Lochan Lead District Manager, SBI emphasized the need on financial inclusion.
SBIRSETI is shortly starting programmes on “Cutting & Tailoring and “Electric Motor Rewinding”. Interested youth may enroll themselves in any programme immediately.
