We want to bring it to your kind notice that during the regime of National Conference-Congress coalition Government, the Department of Gastroenterology was created in the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu. The Department was part of six Super Specialties, which were created in the Super Specialty Hospital at Resham Ghar, a part of Government Medical College, Jammu.
However, to the utmost surprise of the people, the Department is lying non-functional for the past more than a year now.
It is shocking that instead of creating new Departments, the PDP-BJP Government has even closed down the existing Department of gastroenterology, which was providing lot of help to the people suffering from stomach related ailments.
We urge upon the State Government especially Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Devender Manyal to immediately resotre the Gastroenterology Department and make it fully functional.
