Journalist Bukhari killing: Police releases photos of suspects

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police has released photos of three bike-borne men who are suspected to have killed senior journalist and Editor-in-Chief of English Daily ‘Rising Kashmir’ Shujahat Bukhari and his two Personnel Security Officers (PSOs), and sought public’s help in identifying them.
The photographs were posted on official twitter of Kashmir Zone Police.
Police on micro-blogging site Twitter said, ”General public is requested to identify the suspects in pictures involved in today’s terror attack at press enclave.#ShujaatBukhari @JmuKmrPolice @spvaid @DIGCKRSGR @PoliceSgr.”
The picture shows three youths riding a motorcycle fleeing the area after firing at Bukhari, who survived a similar attack in 2006.
Gunmen resorted to indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons when Bukhari was boarding a vehicle to leave for his house from Press Enclave Office at Partp Park near here. Bukhari and his one Special Police Officer (SPO) died on the spot while anther SPO (driver) succumbed in hospital on Thursday evening.
The killing of Bukhari evoked wide condemnation in the state, country and abroad. Cutting across party lines, mainstream leaders, separatists have strongly condemned the murder of Rising Kashmir Editor in Chief. (AGENCIES)
