Wattal appeals Jammuites, KPs to participate in pilgrimage commencing from June 18

JAMMU, June 16: Kheer Bhawani Yatra Committee has appealed to all the Jammuites and Kashmir Pandits (KPs) to participate in large number in Kheer Bhawani pilgrimage commencing on June 18.
The appeal was made by Kiran Wattal, Convener of the Committee while interacting with the media persons here this afternoon. On the occasion, Kiran Wattal along with Pawan Shastri, ML Jalali, Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University Jammu and others released the calendar of Kheer Bhawani having religious dates.
“The Committee will facilitate the yatra from Jammu enroute to Kheer Bhawani with having langer arrangement at Ramban. The Committee will also provided transport facilities and advance parties have been arranged for Manzgam, Tikker (Kupwara), Devsar (Kan Baran), Lathipora and Nagdani in coordination with Relief Organization”, Wattal informed.
He stated that langer at Kheer Bhawani from morning to evening has been arranged by Swami Vivekananda Ashram, Nagdandi and employees of the Biradari working in the Civil Secretariat for the yatra days. He requested the pilgrims to contact their concerned Zonal Officers and Camp Commanders of Relief Organization in their respective areas for the pilgrimage.
Wattal said that the Committee members met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her Advisor Amitabh Mattoo and submitted a representation demanding additional accommodation/rooms for yatris and commissioning of sewerage treatment plant at the shrine complex.
“The Committee also urged CM to give instructions to the line departments/organizations for providing necessary facilities and accordingly CM issued instructions to concerned Government departments and agencies for taking appropriate action so that the yatra will be conducted in smooth manner”, he added.
Wattal said that the organizers of the committee met various Government officers including Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, DC Ramban, DC Ganderbal, Relief Commissioner, IGP, Director Tourism and MD SRTC to coordinate yatra activities from Jammu to Kheer Bhawani shrine, who accordingly directed their concerned officers to tie up with the Committee for addressing the issues pertaining to the pilgrimage.
Among others present were Sanjeev Dhar, CP Kaul, Pintoo Ji, Aryan Ramesh, Ajay Bhat, Rohit Bhat, Sanjay Raina and Kuldip Luthra.
