JKAACL organizes Rutt Rahre Festival

JAMMU, June 16: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized Rutt Rahre Festival in collaboration with Kala Kendra Society in the open premises of the Kendra, here today.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages informed that as a regular activity JKAACL is organizing Children Summer Workshop and Rutt Rahre Festival is being organized during this Summer Camp in the premises.
He said the participating children of the Summer Camp were taken to visit to this place so that they can be enlightened about the scientific importance of this old tradition of Dogra region.
The Rutt Rahre is particularly linked with the experiment of the seed testing with their plantation in a particular folk form and with celebrations of singing traditional folk of the region and very effectively and artistically designed Rangoli in an established folk style using flour, rice powder, turmeric, sindoor and other domestic and cousine items as colors.
The folk parties which participated in this festival included Lajwanti and Party, Neelam Kumari and Party, Ashita Mehra and Party and Sudesh Devi and Party.
The programme was organized in coordination with Bishan Dass, Assistant Cultural Officer, JKAACL.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Amarjit Singh, Bindiya Raina Tickoo, Amanpreet Kaur, OP Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, Saurav Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, parents, children of the workshop and prominent citizens of the region.
