JPBEF holds protest against anti people, anti-workers policies

JAMMU, Dec 19: Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation under the banner of AIBEA/AIBOA today held a massive protest dharna at Shalamar Chowk against anti- people and anti-workers policies of the Government.
Addressing the gathering, Arun Kumar Gupta, general secretary, Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation highlighted the core issues for which AIBEA/ AIBOA/ BEFI/ NUBE organisations have called one-day strike tomorrow.
Ever since the Government initiated the neo-liberal economic reforms policies in country, there have been repeated attempts to somehow bring in policies, which would liberalise, privatise and foreignise banking sector, he added.
He said that they are consistently fighting against these policies and have conducted agitations and strike actions on various occasions in the past whenever the Government took any measures of banking reforms, because these are not in the interest of country and economy.
Gupta added that the Banking Law Amendment Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha recently ignoring their views as Government is trying to hurry up with the amendments.
We have no other alternative than to draw the attention of people of India by organizing a strike by even foregoing our salary, he informed.
