JAMMU, June 21: 4th International Yoga Day was celebrated across the State with enthusiasm and zeal.
In Jammu a function was organised by Department of AYUSH at K K Hakku Stadium which witnessed tremendous participation from yoga practitioners, youth, students and elderly people.
Union Minister of State for Prime Minister Office (PMO), Dr Jitendra Singh, Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Hemant Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kumar Rajiv Ranjan, ADC Arun Manhas along with other dignitaries and participants performed different asanas of Yoga to commemorate International Yoga Day.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh said that yoga is universally acknowledged as the best treatment for all diseases, and if practiced regularly, it eradicates mental stress and keeps the body, mind and intellect fit. “The International Yoga Day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga – physical, mental and spiritual practice”, he added.

The International Yoga Day was observed at the lawns of Raj Bhavan, where experts from Yoga Society of Kashmir conducted a 45 minute session of a Yoga demonstration exercises. Governor N N Vohra, First Lady Usha Vohra, Umang Narula, Principal Secretary to Governor, besides household, secretariat and security officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan participated in the yoga session.
Governor NN Vohra attended the 4th International Yoga Day organized by the Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy, J&K, in early morning today at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex. Emphasizing the importance of Yoga for physical and mental fitness, Governor stressed that yoga should be taught at educational institutions and there should also be special arrangements for teaching it to senior citizens.
Yoga is significant to discover inner peace; sense of oneness with yourself, symbolizes harmony between man and nature and form a balance between mind and body,” said Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Dr Nirmal Singh during the International Yoga Day celebrations held at Heartfulness Yoga and Meditation Centre, Sehora, Camp Gol Gujral here today.
MLA, Sukhnandan Choudhary was also present in the function. Throwing light on the significance of Yoga Day, the Speaker advised the people not to lean towards materialism and asked them to adopt healthy lifestyle to stay fit and overcome diseases.
The Speaker also released a book on Heart-Based Meditations for spiritual transformation – ‘The Heartfulness Way’ by Global Heartfulness Teacher and Spiritual Master Kamlesh D Patel and HFN practitioner Joshua Pollock and said the book will play a great contributing factor towards spreading healthiness all over.
Two main functions in connection with 4th International Yoga Day; one in Jammu and the other in Srinagar were held today wherein J&K State AIDS Control Society participated in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Jammu and Srinagar branches who had organized the function.
The chief guest of the function, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, former Minister for Health & Medical Education Department, J&K emphasized upon the significant role of Yoga in the healthy development of youth and explained the audience about the importance of yoga in the overall wellbeing of a person.
At Srinagar in Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, J&K Police and NCC Group Headquarter Srinagar celebrated Yoga Day in which more than 700 NCC cadets, police personnel and school children participated in the Yoga session. Different exercises (Asanas) were performed under the guidance of yoga experts. Commandant JKAP 12th Shri Abdul Rashid Bhat threw light on the immediate relevance of Yoga to the present stressful life style.
J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, celebrated International Yoga Day at Conference Hall, Lawyers Chambers Complex at J&K High Court, Jammu. The programme was initiated by General Secretary of the Association, Prem Sadotra in presence of BS Slathia, Senior Advocate and president of the Association.
The programme lasted for about an hour under the supervision of a prominent Yoga Teacher from Art of Living, Delair Singh, that included an overview of the benefits of Yoga and demonstration of the important ‘asanas & postures’.
The Army celebrated International Day of Yoga at various locations including Gool, Bagga, Samote, Kalal, Lam and Kalakote. Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and Jawans participated in the Yoga session. During these sessions, various Asanas including Pranayama were conducted, focusing on ways to easy stress, exploring fullest potential of life, skills to handle the mind and harmonise the body, mind and spirit.
To celebrate International Yoga Day, Art of Living, Jammu chapter organized Yoga sessions at over 20 locations in J&K including AoL centers, with more than 20000 participants which included Government officials, Army and CAPF Jawans students.
Nehru Yuva Kendra in collaboration with District Administration and AYUSH today organized a programme to celebrate International Yoga Day at Sports Stadium, Kathua. Various educational institutions, Government departments, social organizations, NCC units participated in the celebration.
Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rohit Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion. ADC, ACR, Doctors, students and other district officers also participated in the event to mark International Yoga Day celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, DC Kathua appealed the people especially youth to adopt Yoga in their routine life. A large number of persons from all walks of life, Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandals, Patanjali Yog, various social, religious, yoga and meditation organizations, NGOs, education institutions and Police Training Schools participated in the yoga session.
In Ramban, the Yoga Day programme was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Ramban by the AYUSH, Youth Service and Sports. MLA Ramban, Neelam Langeh, was the chief guest on the occasion. A yoga session was organized by Dr Masood Zargar and yoga instructors in which all the participants showed their keen interest in learning of Vyayam and Pranayama which is the control of prana through the breath.
Like other parts of world, Yoga lovers from all over Reasi came together to celebrate the ancient Indian practice. The day witnessed a series of Yoga events. The programme started at 7 am, where MLA Ajay Nanda was the chief guest. He said, “Yoga is the best supplement for medicines, as we age, flexibility naturally decreases, which leads to pain and immobility. Yoga can ameliorate this process.” Similar functions were held at Katra, Pouni and Jyotipuram.
The Samba district administration in collaboration with Yoga Samiti organized a Yoga Shivir to mark the celebrations of International Yoga Day at Veer Bhoomi Park. The district officers, members of Patanjali Yoga Samiti and general public participated in the celebrations with great zeal and enthusiasm. The participants performed yoga and practiced different yoga postures, finally ending with Pranayama and meditation.
A function celebrating 4th International Yoga Day was organized by Bureau of Outreach Communication, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with District Youth and Sports Office, Rajouri at Mini Stadium near DYSS Office, Rajouri. Swaran Singh, District Youth and Sports Services Officer Rajouri, along with other officers was present on the occasion. He helped the participants practice various Yog asanas.
In connection with observance of 4th International Yoga Day, the Bureau of Outreach & Communication, Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Field Outreach Bureau, Udhampur in close coordination with Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, Patanjalai Yog Peeth, Education and district administration organized a special interactive programme at Government Higher Secondary, School, Kud. Mohmad Saleem, Naib Tehsildar, Chenani was the chief guest of the function. The programme started with the performance of Aasanas and Mudras by a strong contingent of about 350 students of the Host School besides some locals and staff under the guidance of Yog Gurus from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan and Patanjalai Yog Peeth.
The 4th International Yoga Day was celebrated with enthusiasm across Kargil here today during which District Administration organized a series of yoga awareness and exercise sessions at the District Headquarter as well as the Sub Divisional levels.
The main function was held in the premises of Indoor Stadium Kargil. Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil Vikas Kundal was the chief guest on the occasion who along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, SE PWD Sarwan Singh, Chief Planning Officer Kargil, district officers and officials of different departments, performed different Yoga asanas under the guidance of trained Yoga experts.
Yoga camps were also held at the District Police Lines (DPL) Kargil where the Senior Superintendent of Police and Deputy SP DAR Kargil along with the Police personnel performed different yogic postures to mark the occasion. Similar yoga camps were held at Boys Higher Secondary School Kargil, Government Degree College Kargil, District Hospital Kargil, Indoor Stadium Drass, Higher Secondary Chiktan, Sankoo and Padum Zanskar, Kendriya Vidyalaya Kargil (KVK) and NHPC premises Kargil.
Like in other parts of world and India, the 4th International Yoga Day was observed in Leh district with great participation of students, para-military and medical staff at different venues in Leh today. Indian Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Leh celebrated the Day at the bank of river Indus, Choglamsar, Leh early morning today. SHQ Leh and its subordinate units performed yoga. DIG (Ladakh) ITBP presided over the event as the chief guest and practiced yoga along with other commanding officers of ITBP formations based at Leh and other Himveers.
Under the supervision of yog guru Phunchok Ladakhi, Yoga Day was celebrated at Degree College, Leh. Phuntsog Ladakhi also took a yoga session at Forest Bagh Choglamsar organized by Health Department, Leh under National Health Mission on the theme ‘Yoga for harmony and peace’.
A Yoga camp was organized on the occasion of 4th International Yoga Day at Udhampur. Approx 1000 officers, soldiers and families attended the camp with great enthusiasm. Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, GOC-in-C Northern Command and Kalpana Singh Dhatt, Regional President AWWA also participated. Qualified Yoga instructors assisted in performance of Yoga and imparted knowledge on the art and science of Yoga, its benefits and its relevance in the present day scenario.
Similar Yoga camps were also conducted by other Army units and formations of Northern Command across the entire State of Jammu & Kashmir. This included Yoga at “Siachen Glacier” the highest battlefield where soldiers performed Yoga and were guided by Sadhguru from Isha foundation.
International Day of Yoga was celebrated today in Sub-Divisional Headquarter Thathri and Chogan Ground District Kishtwar by Child Development and Rural Welfare Society in collaboration with United Youth Club. Station House Officer, Thathri, Sunil Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion and Mir Ali, ZEO Thathri, was the guest of honor. More than 300 participants performed yoga on the occasion.
Field Outreach Bureau, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, organized an awareness programme in connection with Yoga Day in Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), Doda. Mohd Sharief, Chief Education Officer, Doda, was the chief guest where as Ashok Kotwal, District Sports Officer, Doda and Tanveer Ahmed Wani, Principal of the school, were the guests of honour.
On the eve of International Yoga Day, Nehru Yuva Kendra Srinagar organized a Yoga session at Srinagar. About 1100 participants from Youth clubs, Bharat Scout & Guides and students from Youth Services & Sports department participated in the programme. Surender Ambardar was the chief guest on the occasion. Yogesh Gour from AoL, J&K Chapter was the Yoga Guru under whose supervision participants performed various asanas.
To celebrate Yoga Day, Art of Living organized a Yoga camp in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal. Harish Kotwal, Superintendent of the Jail, spoke on the occasion. All the jail inmates as well as staff members participated in the camp and performed various asanas under the guidance of AoL teacher, Bharat Bhushan.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a Yoga Camp by Art of Living (AoL) team headed by senior teacher, Bharat Bhushan was organized in District Jail Jammu. In the programme, a large number of jail inmates participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. Among others, Jail officers, Tajinder Kour, Additional Superintendent, Feroz Ahmed Lone, Deputy Superintendent, Nasir Ahmed, Assistant Superintendent and jail staff participated. Dinesh Sharma, Senior Superintendent, District Jail Jammu, spoke on the occasion.
A Yoga Day programme was also organized in District Jail, Kathua in collaboration with Art of Living through their representatives, Bhagwati Prasad and Ravinder Mansotra. Superintendent, Jail, Mushtaq Ahmed Malla, prison staff and near about 70 jail inmates participated in the event. The importance of the day and benefits of Yoga were highlighted by the trainers.
In connection with International Yoga Day, a brief training session was conducted this morning by Dhananjaya Shastri, yoga expert in the premises of Jammu Airport. Tips to keep healthy body and healthy life were discussed. A number of participants from all stakeholders i.e. employees of AAI, J&K Police, CRPF, All operating airlines etc participated in the session. SK Garg, Officiating Airport Director was also present.
A Yoga Session was organized at SPS Police Training School, Kathua on the eve of InternationaL Yoga Day. Yoga experts demonstrated various Yoga exercises to the participants during the session. Ranjit Kanwar, SSP, Principal, SPS PTS kathua, also briefed the staff about the importance of Yoga in living stress free and healthy life.
Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur organized a special yoga class on the eve of “International Yoga Day” for the staff and trainees. The yoga experts from Arogaya Bharti J&K, Mahavir Gupta, Vidya Kumar Soni, Abhishek Sharma and Vinod Sahni demonstrated various yoga exercises (Asanas) to the participants. SSP Ashok Kumar, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, was also present.
To celebrate International Yoga Day, Parade Sports Association and Laxmi Cricket Club organized a programme at Parade Ground, Jammu, where experts of Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan, Jammu extended their expertise of Yoga and meditation for the cricket players and others. More than 60 players attended the programme.
Bharatiya Yog Sansthan Jammu organised a function at Green Belt Park Gandhi Nagar early morning in connection with International Yoga Day. Over 500 persons participated in the function.
International Yoga Day was celebrated at BSF Jammu Frontier HQ, Paloura, and at various BSF units and Border Out Posts, from 0700 hrs to 0800 Hrs. IG BSF, Ram Awtar, Frontier HQ Jammu, while speaking on the occasion, emphasized that Yoga embodies unity of mind and body. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. The event was attended by approx 700 enthusiastic Bordermen.
The Yoga Day was also celebrated by 80 Battalion BSF at its headquarter. Jawans were imparted training on yoga by instructors trained at Patanjali Yog Peeth Morarji Desai Institute of Yoga. Around 150 Jawans performed yoga to celebrate 4th International Day of Yoga. Happy Verma, Commandant of the Battalion, graced the occasion.
Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) celebrated the 4th International Day of Yoga with full enthusiasm here at Group Centre CRPF Bantalab, Jammu. More than 1100 CAPF personnel from various units deployed in Jammu region participated in the event. Officers and men of CAPF practiced various postures of yoga under the supervision and instructions. While addressing the personnel after the event, K Vijay Kumar, IG CRPF J&K Zone and A V Chauhan, IG CRPF Jammu Sector emphasized upon the importance and benefits of practicing Yoga daily in our lives.
The Rising Star Corps celebrated the International Day of Yoga at its all stations. All ranks participated in the event with great fervour and high spirit. To commence the day, Open Air Yoga sessions started at respective unit locations with about 13,076 participants. During the 40 minute session, various Yoga exercises were performed to educate the participants about Yoga and various benefits from it. This was followed by an awareness brief about health & lifestyle. The Yoga session concluded with all participants pledging to imbibe lessons of physical and mental fitness to lead a stress free and contented life.
Tiger Division celebrated International Yoga Day with high spirit. An hour long programme was held in which huge number of army persons participated. Various Yoga aasans were practiced under guidance of Yoga instructors from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Talab Tilo, Jammu at various places namely Miran Sahib, Kaluchak, Badi Brahmana, Sunjuwan and Damana. The event culminated with a short speech enlisting benefits of Yoga.
The 4th International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Bandipora today. In this connection, a function was organised by Nodal Officer Department of ISM health at SK Sports Stadium Bandipora. The function was attended by DDC Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai, Nodal Officer ISM Dr Iftikhar, senior police officers, Ayush doctors, officials of the sports department, NCC cadets and a good number of students.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the members of NGO ‘Jiyo Aur Jeene Do’ organized a Yoga camp at their Head office with a motive to create an awareness regarding Yoga. While performing yoga by many young and old, children and ladies, the NGO highlighted the importance of yoga. While speaking in the camp, Tariq Shah highlighted that yoga is a guarantee of good health.
4th International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Salal Power Station, Jyotipuram today with enthusiasm. Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station, Vanita Shekhar, Seraphina Lakra, Senior Manager (HR), other senior officers from NHPC, employees, ladies from NHPC family and CISF personnel participated in the Yoga Session from 6:30 AM to 08.00 AM at Ramleela Ground, Jyotipuram.
Dulhasti Power Station celebrated 4th International Day of Yoga with full fervor at Chenab Nagar Kishtwar. The mass yoga demonstration followed by drill of the common yoga protocol commenced sharply at 07.00 AM. Before start of the yoga demonstration the importance of Yoga and its Asans/exercise were displayed to the participants through audio visual medium for awareness & guidance.
On the occasion of International day of Yoga, management of the Jammu Club led by its Honorary Secretary Rattandeep Singh Anand, in collaboration with Bharatiya Yog Sansthan held Yoga classes for its members in the Club premises. The event was attended by over 60 members of the Club. Rattandeep Singh Anand took a decision to make this a permanent feature and announced that now on Yoga classes for members shall be held daily basis at 6:30 in the morning in the Club.
4th International Yoga Day was celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm at 400/220 kV Samba Substation of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region-II. Several programmes were organised in the sub-station through which benefits of yoga were illustrated to the employees which included a special early morning Yoga session wherein experts from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan imparted training to the participants.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj (a social organisation working to promote Education, Environment, Health and Nationhood among the general masses) celebrated ‘International Yoga Day’ at Bhour Camp. On the occasion, speakers told that Yoga is a complete Science. It has all tools and techniques which heals our body, mind and soul. Through Yoga one can improve his/her health as well as minds. It also improves our concentration.
Lalded Women Welfare Society today organized Yoga Day at Kot Bhalwal Jammu where many people gathered and took part in yoga. In this event, several people from nearby localities participated.
Students and Aerobic trainers of Dance Fit Smiley Zone, Rama Lane, Talab Tillo Jammu celebrated Yoga Day by organizing a function. About 30 of Yoga, Aerobics and Dance practitioner took part in this Yoga day celebration. An Acro Yoga session was conducted by the young and energetic trainers of the State Tanuja Chahar and Mritunjay Bali.
The entire officers and troops participated in a mass “Yoga Mela” organized by Chief Engineer, Project Sampark of Border Roads Organisation. The mela was conducted by teachers of “Patanjali Yogpeeth” and all participants showed full enthusiasm during the mela which in the long run would ensure a stress free and healthy environment.
Cygnett Park Asia, Jammu celebrated International Day of Yoga today. An hour – long programme was held at the Lawn of the Hotel in which room guests staying in the Hotel as well as patrons from Jammu including staff of the Hotel took part. The Yoga session started at 8.00 AM in which 20 asanas were performed.
CII in collaboration with Contender Fitness Club organized a Yoga session in connection with International Yoga Day. The session on Yoga focused on the theme ‘Stress Management through Yoga’. The session saw participation from corporate of Jammu region. Rohit Sangotra, Owner, Contender Fitness Club discussed with the participants the importance of Yoga.
Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti, J&K celebrated International Yoga Day in all 36 schools across the State. The main programme was held in the campus of BVN Leh, in which counselors of CEC along with team of Vidyabharti participated.
To celebrate the “4th International Yoga Day” and “World Music Day”, BLSKS in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production presented Musical Play “Karo Yog Raho Nirog” at open air theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur. Nukkad, skits, songs and dances were presented to aware the masses. The Yoga class was also organized under the supervision of Renu Saproo, Physical Education Teacher. The Lecture on Yoga was delivered by Karuna Bajaj Kotwal, Lecturer.
All World Gayatri Pariwar, Branch Jammu today organized Yoga camps at different places including District police lines Kathua, KV Bantalab and Gayatri Shakti Peeth Janipur to celebrate International Yoga Day. A large number of people participated in the camps and performed various asanas. Akhand-Jap of Gayatri Mantra was also performed at Gayatri Shakti Peeth Janipur Jammu from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Northern Regional Campus of IIMC, Jammu celebrated the International Yoga Day in collaboration with ‘Morning Walkers Association’ of ‘Ever Green Park’ Channi Himmat, Jammu. The event was organised under the guidance of Dr Ram Kumar. Regional Director, Manohar Khajuria was also present on the occasion.
4th International Day of Yoga was celebrated by Central University of Jammu at Temporary Academic Block, Sainik Colony, Jammu. Month long free yoga camps were concluded in the light of International Day of Yoga. Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, Former Minister for Health and Medical Education was the chief guest, while Prof Indu Aima, Former Director IMPA, presided over the function. Dr Ravi Kumar, Registrar, CUJ, was special guest, while Kashyap, Director, Nehru Yuva Sangathan, Dr KC Sharma, Surgeon, Heart Specialist, Deepika Thakur, Shoba Ram, Yash Pal, Dr DL Choudhary, I/c, The Yoga Centre, CUJ, SK Jain, President, Vichaar Kranti Manch International and many others were present on the occasion. The yoga instructors Ranjana Verma, Anil Raina, Renu Thappar and Konika Bhagat conducted different sessions of yoga.
Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu has organized one week Yoga Camp to celebrate the 4th International Day of Yoga at the gymnasium hall, which started on June 14 and concluded today. Prof RD Sharma Vice- Chancellor, University of Jammu and Deepak Handa President, J&K Yoga Association were the chief guest and special guest on the occasion respectively, which was attended by a large number of participants and other dignitaries from the University as well as from the civil society.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, celebrated 4th International Yoga Day. Vice-Chancellor, Dr Sanjeev Jain, along with the students, faculty and staff members and their wards participated in the yoga practice session. Gurmel, Junior Assistant in the Security Wing of the University and a trained yoga instructor, guided the participants for various yoga postures and meditation techniques. The yoga practice session was coordinated by Dr Anil Tewari, Head, School of Philosophy and Culture and Nodal Officer, SBSI along with Sumanta S Sharma, Faculty Coordinator, NSS.
Fourth International Yoga Day was celebrated at SGT University ground. The event started with lighting of lamp by the Vice Chancellor of the University. More than 600 students and staff members enthusiastically participated in the celebrations, yogic exercises and omkar chanting.
International Day of Yoga was celebrated at IGNOU Regional Centre, Jammu. Vikram Singh, Regional Director Incharge alongwith Dr Sandeep Gupta, ARD, Tejinder Pal Singh, AR and other staff members participated in the programme and performed different yog asanas and mudras under guidance of the Mohini Bhat.
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Center Srinagar in collaboration Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Iswariya Vishwa Vidalaya, Brahma Kuamri Center, Jammu (World Spiritual University) Mount Abu, Rajasthan. Lectures on different topics, illustration of yoga by RC staffs and enrolled IGNOU students and illustration of various pranayam techniques were held on the occasion. Rajyogi BK Ravinder Bhai, Jammu Center of Brahma Kumaris and BK Rama Rani Brahma Kumaris, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Iswariya Vishwa Vidalaya, Brahma Kumari Center, Jammu (World Spiritual University) Mount Abu, Rajasthan were key resource persons to deliver the lectures on various themes. Kamlesh Meena, Assistant Regional Director and Program Coordinator of International Day of Yoga at IGNOU Regional Center Srinagar, Regional Director RC Srinagar Dr MA Laskar and many others were present on the occasion.
Institute of Management Sciences (IMS), Gurha Brahmana Patoli, Jammu celebrated International Yoga Day. At the outset, Prof SK Gupta Dean Academics welcomed the Yoga Expert Ravi Kant Gupta, Prof JR Dhotra, Dr Rekha Gupta Director IMS, other faculty and staff members of the institute. Ravi Kant Gupta, after explaining the role of yoga, practically demonstrated a number of asanas.
National College of Education, Purkhoo Camp, Domana, Jammu celebrated 4th International Yoga Day. Dr Bandana was trainer as she is expert in yoga. Principal Dr Manju Dwivedi, NSS volunteers of BEd and teaching staff, NSS Coordinator, Yashumati Jamwal, Vijay Laxmi and many others participated in yoga function.
Institution of Engineering and Computer Sciences, Purkhoo Camp, Domana, Jammu celebrated International Yoga Day. NSS Unit of Chenab College of Education celebrated Yoga Day. Students and all staff members performed various yogic postures under the guidance of yoga expert Suresh Dubey. Principal Dr Inderjeet Kour delivered a brief speech highlighting the importance of the day.
Dogra Law College organised a Moot Court presentation for LLB 3 years 2nd Semester Law students. The proceedings were presided over by Zulkar Nain, Advocate J&K High Court. 34 students of LLB (Professional) participated in the Moot Court and presented their submission. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Mubarak Singh, Director (ADM&CD) Dogra Educational Trust and Prof VP Magotra, Principal Dogra Law College were present on the occasion.

Students and staff members took part and performed yoga asanas under the instructions of yoga instructor Gopal Krishan. Dr Madhu Singh, Principal of the college threw light on the importance of the day. In the end, NSS Programme Shipali presented vote of thanks.
Ramisht College of Education, Basohli organized an event to mark the 4th International Yoga Day. The programme was initiated by Mahan Singh Jasrotia, Physical Instructor of college, who highlighted the Indian origin of yoga and its benefits. Around 90 participants were present in this event including teachers as well as students.
International Yoga day was celebrated at Government MAM College Jammu. Faculty from various departments of the College attended and participated in the training session. Approximately 100 students, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers received yoga training. The training was supervised and imparted by Raman Kumar Sharma, Yoga Trainer, Senior Pharmacist of the College and District President Yog Samiti Jammu. Dr SC Sharma, Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul, Dr Renu Bala Nanda, Dr Nalini Pathania and many others attended the yog training session. The function was organized by Dr Sangeeta Sudan NSS Coordinator. Principal of the College Dr Romesh Chander highlighted the importance of the day.

Sushma Gupta and Subhash Gupta from Arogya Bharti Centre were the yoga instructors. NSS Programme Officer Prof Sunita Devi, Prof (Dr) MA Lone, Prof Raj Singh, Prof Ritu Magotra and Prof Neelam Dhar were also present on the occasion.

Government College for Women Parade celebrated the 4th International Yoga Day. The event was organized under the auspices of 2nd J&K Girls Battalion Jammu, in which 8 institutions across the Jammu Division participated. Dr Yograj Padha from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan and his team were the resource persons on the occasion. Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the college, Captain Chaya Kanwal, Lt Suman Lata, GCI Madhu and faculty members of the college were present on the occasion.
NSS Unit of the Government Degree College Thannamandi celebrated the International Yoga Day by organizing a special yoga session in which the NSS volunteers and NCC cadets performed various asanas. The students were taught asanas by the instructor from 38 RR Thannamandi. Principal Prof (Dr) Shakeel Ahmed Raina, PTI of the college Javaid Yousef, NSS Programme Officer Prof Saleem Ayaz Rather and many others attended the session.
4th International Yoga Day was celebrated in the premises of Government PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar, wherein the yoga was conducted by the team of experts by Bharti Yog Sansthan headed by Anil Pachnanda, President of Bharti Yog Sansthan, J&K. The yoga was attended by the 352 cadets from different institutions. Principal of the college Dr Kaushal Smotra, Commanding Officer J&K Girls Battalionn Col RK Sharma, ANOs of the institutes, staff members and Lt Shivani Sharma, ANO of host institution were present on the occasion.
International Yoga Day was celebrated in GDC Kishtwar by NCC Unit. Lieutenant Satish Thakur Associate NCC Officer GDC Kishtwar, Prof PK Sharma Principal of the College, NCC cadets and other regular students of the college attended the program.
