NEW DELHI, June 22: Copper futures traded a shade lower at Rs 453.75 per kg today as speculators trimmed their
Positions amid a weak domestic spot market on muted demand from consuming industries.
However, a firm trend in metal at the London Metal Exchange (LME), capped the losses.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June eased by 20 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 453.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 519 lots.
The metal for delivery in July fell by a similar manner at Rs 460 per kg, in a business volume of 25 lots.
Globally, copper for delivery in three-month rose 0.2 per cent to USD 6,800 per tonne at the LME.
Analysts said cutting down of bets by participants on weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to low demand, kept pressure on copper prices. (PTI)
