JAMMU, June 22: Three-day mega exhibition on Women Empowerment 2018 commenced here today.
On the occasion, Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas was the chief guest, who inaugurated the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, Manhas asked the people of the State in general and youth in particular to take benefits of the schemes launched the Central Government for the welfare and take nation to the new heights.
Anand Pal, Member Paryas Exhibition, in his address, said that the three-day exhibition was organised with a view to empower and encourage women to step in the corporate world and set landmark.
“The exhibition encourages education and training to both literate and illiterate in field of agriculture, handloom and handcrafts, Information Technology, Science and Technology, infrastructure and many more. The main aim of organizing this event is to make people as well as youth of Jammu and Kashmir and especially women to make aware about the schemes launched by various government departments for their welfare,” he added.
During the exhibition, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) displayed its latest developments and innovations accompanied by them in recent years and also provide information regarding space research.
Similarly, Indian Council of Medical Research imparted awareness regarding various diseases, its precautions, and the treatment that can be done at home which include dengue, malaria, swine flu, etc.
Defence Research and Development Organization explained the visitors about the various successful defence techniques undertake by Indian Army and aware about various corporate social responsibilities taken up for the general masses.
National Skill Development Mission made youth aware about the Udaan Scheme especially taken for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir aiming to educate and train making them capable for their livelihood.
Similarly other participating Government departments exhibited the schemes and policies taken up by the Government for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The entry of three-day mega exhibition will be free of costs and the same will continue upto June 24.
