9 yrs imprisonment in jail break case

JAMMU, Dec 20: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Sanjay Gupta today awarded nine years imprisonment to Dilawar Khan one of accused involved in much publicized Kot-Bhalwal jail break case.
According to the police case, on December 12, 2006 accused Abdul Hai along with Dilwar Khan and 47 other inmates broke open the jail. Accordingly, a case was registered against the accused and after completion of investigation challan was presented.
After hearing both the sides, Additional Sessions Judge awarded two years imprisonment under Section 147/148/149 RPC, two years imprisonment under Section 332 RPC, six months imprisonment under Section u/s 336 RPC, three years imprisonment under Section 4/25 Arms Act and two years imprisonment under Section 4 of J&K Public Property (Prevention of Damage) Act. The Court, however, clarified that all the sentences will run concurrently.
