Zinc futures rise on spot demand

NEW DELHI, June 28: Zinc prices moved up by 0.32 per cent to Rs 200.95 per kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions after demand picked up at the spot market amid positive Asian cues.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July edged up by 65 paise, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 200.95 per kg in a business turnover of 118 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in June traded higher by 55 paise, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 202 per kg in 560 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by participants on the back of rise in demand from consuming industries at the spot market and a firm trend in the base metals pack at the Shanghai Futures Exchange, mainly led to the upmove in zinc prices at futures trade. (PTI)
