Disgraceful conduct

Sir,
Everyday when one goes through newspapers, finds highly disgusting and shameful account of events, especially from big cities and towns wherein womanhood is disgracefully humbled and harassed. Incidents of rapes, gang rapes and subsequent killings of women become heart-tearing and painful. The fault  doesn’t lie only on law enforcing authorities, the whole society can’t be absolved of such crimes. Moral erosion has made our social and political systems totally paralysed. Where have gone all those days when women used to enjoy full social security and dignity ? Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, undoubtedly, are sacred slogans, but , are we really interested and concerned to protect them from such atrocities? The laws are adequate to curb such incidents, but their  implementation is alway half-heartedly done. Obviously, harder action by proper implementation of the rules can only minimise such scenes, which no civilized society, can bear with. Until, deterrance and fear of severe punishment is generated among  the  society, the honour and dignity of our women would remain unprotected. Therefore, cultivation of moral and ethical values can’t be exaggerated. Any society where women aren’t respected, can’t claim  of being good.
