Srinagar, June 29: High Court today directed the authorities to redraw the seniority list and consider the petitioners for the promotion to the post of Panchayat Inspectors and Block Development Officers at par with private respondents.
Hearing a petition filed by two candidates seeking promotion to the posts in question, Justice M K Hanjura directed the authorities to redraw the seniority list in respect of these posts and consider the petitioners also for the promotion keeping in view of the rule postion.
The contention raised by the petitioners that their colleagues who are also arrayed as private respondents in the petition, have been granted the promotion but they have been denied the same compelling them to approach the court for seeking their right.
Petitioners have challenged the orders bearing Nos. 581 DRDK of 2015 dated 31st of August, 2015, DRDK/Estt/9752 dated 29th of June, 2015 & RD/Legal/49/2015 dated 14th of August, 2015 whereby their claim has been rejected.
Justice Hanjura while allowing their petition, quashed these orders and consequently directed for redrawing the seniority list in relation to the posts in question and for according consideration of the petitioners for their promotion to the post of Panchayat Inspectors Grade-I/Plantation Rangers from the date they became eligible for such promotion in tune with the rule position governing the field.
