Jammu faced worst kind of discrimination under BJP-PDP: Bhalla

JAMMU, July 1: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has alleged that Jammu faced worst kind of discrimination under BJP-PDP rule.
While interacting with party workers at Rani Bagh in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Congress leader launched scathing attack on Centre and BJP-PDP  for  deteriorating situation in the State and blamed them both for failing to create an atmosphere of peace as a result of which the country and the State are passing though very crucial phase leading to the deep alienation among people.
People are subjected to mental torture by them in order to hide its failures. The PDP-BJP Government miserably failed to deliver.  The misrule and mismanagement on their part added to the woes of the people. The people of Jammu witnessed worst kind of discrimination in every sphere.
Bhalla said all the promises made to the people by the PDP and the BJP after securing votes from them on sensitive issues, have fallen flat. “People have realized that they have been misled very badly on the Agenda of Alliance between PDP and BJP; unemployment has risen considerably; developmental process started by the UPA I & UPA II has come to standstill; lack of policy on the part of State Government disturbed the socio political scenario of the State. Censuring both the PDP and the BJP for “failing to come up to the expectations of the people”,  said, “people in all the three regions have realized that their vote to PDP-BJP instead of giving any respite to them has brought miseries to them.
Bhalla alleged that the BJP ruined Kashmir and “ran away” from the Government  to shift the entire blame on to the PDP and argued that the “unnatural” alliance was doomed to meet a disastrous end. He  said you can’t run away after ruining and destroying Jammu and Kashmir. You can’t shift the blame to the PDP alone. It is the Centre’s abject failure. The BJP built its political career through propaganda against Kashmir and they wanted to rule that region. The Centre is squarely responsible for this mess, he added.
