Over speeding JU bus hits many vehicles at Narwal

JAMMU, July 3: An over speeding bus of University of Jammu (JU) today hit and damaged many vehicles in Narwal area of city outskirts.
Quoting eye-witness, a police official said that a JU bus bearing registration number JK02AA-4026 being driven in a rash and negligent manner by driver Jagdish Singh son of Gian Singh, resident of Ramnagar (Udhampur), from Narwal to Panama Chowk first hit a scooty and then in a bid to flee from the spot, he hit three other vehicles including an Ambassador car (registration number JK020-8662) belonging to NHPC, a Chevrolet car (registration number JK02BB-1202) and an Alto car.

He said that the mishap occurred due to over speeding as the driver was running the bus at the speed of 100 km/hr. He said two persons including scooty rider received minor injuries in the mishap. “In this connection, a case under relevant sections has been registered at concerned police station and the accused JU bus driver arrested”, the official added.
