KPs reiterate demand on passage of Shrines Bill

JAMMU, Dec 21: Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust held series of meetings in various parts of the city during past one week in which various issues confronting displaced Pandits were discussed threadbare.
As per a release, the meeting expressed grave concern over the delaying tactics adopted by the Government on enactment of law to protect the Hindu Shrines and temples in Kashmir valley the maximum number of which are in dilapidated condition.
The meeting said despite the assurances by the Government to the Trust delegations from time to time, no steps were taken for passage of the Shrines Bill which has since been tabled in State Assembly.
The meetings were held in the premises of Badshah Kalander Ashram, Patoli Mangotrian, Gosani Gund Ashram, Tumal Bohri, Shiv Mandir Roop Nagar, Amar Colony, Talab Tillo and Lalay Da Bagh in which detailed deliberations were held on these issues.
The members also expressed concern over delay in implementation of PM’s employment package and enhancement of over due cash relief. They urged the Government to fulfill its commitment with the community by enacting the law for formation of a Prabhandak Board for preservation and security of Kashmiri Hindu shrines and temples in Valley.
