KULGAM, July 5: National Conference (NC) General Secretary, Ali Mohd Sagar today said that harassment of the youth was the main legacy of ‘fallen’ PDP-BJP Government.
Addressing a convention to pay tributes to late NC leader, Ghulam Nabi Dar, Sagar said that the opportunistic alliance was squarely responsible for pushing the youth towards alienation and disenchantment.
“Youth of the State are the primary victims of PDP-BJP Government as they were robbed of their sense of dignity and their right to a peaceful and prosperous existence,” he said.
Earlier, NC Vice President and former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah paid glowing tributes to late Ghulam Nabi Dar and said called him a valued leader.
“Because of previous government’s policies an unprecedented trust deficit exists among the youth of the State who have been betrayed by the PDP,” Sagar maintained adding that the party (PDP) sought their support on various planks and promises and ended up in breaking every single promise it made.
He further said that the psychological effect of this deceit has been disastrous and has led to a situation today where even educated and employed youth are choosing the path of militancy.
The NC General Secretary while paying tributes to late party leader remembered his services and called him a thorough gentleman and an exemplary people’s representative.
Various senior NC leaders including Provincial President, Nasir Aslam Wani, State Secretary Sakina Ittoo, legislators Altaf Ahmed Kuloo, Abdul Majeed Bhat and others also paid tributes to the late NC leader.
