SRINAGAR, Dec 22: Government has ordered inquiry into the poor performance of the Government schools of Kashmir valley in 10th class results.
The Director School Education Kashmir, Mohammad Shafi Rather  told Excelsior that the department has ordered inquiry into poor performance of the Government schools. He said that the Joint Director Elementary Education, Suriya Akhtar, will conduct inquiry into the poor performance of the schools and fix the responsibility.
The Director said that action will be taken against the teachers who are responsible for the poor showing of the students in 10th class results declared early this week. He said that the annual increments of the teachers of the poor performing schools will be stopped while those who have shown good results will be rewarded.
In the meantime, heads of 12 Government schools where the pass percentage was zero in the 10th class examinations have been put under suspension. They are Government High School Furah, Government High School Satiharan, Government High School Nagabal, Government High School Yarikah, Government High School Tujar, Government High School Khanmoh, Government High School Zethan, Government High School Achoora, Government Boys High School Budanamal, Government High School Puchal, Government Girls High School R N Mandir and Government Boys High School Gulab Bagh.
Meanwhile, one of the teachers of Government Girls High School R N Mandir, accused Education Department of overstaffing the city schools with the relatives of the bureaucrats and politicians who fail to attend duties. She said that these blue eyed teachers have monopoly in these schools and don’t give attention towards teaching which results in poor performance of the schools.
The Government Girls High School R N Mandir had only one student who appeared in the 10th class examination and she failed despite the school having 15 teachers.
The Director brushed aside the allegations levelled by R N Mandir School teachers and said: “15 teachers fail to pass a lone candidate in their school, that is the reason some of them are trying to save themselves by simply trying to shift the blame to others.”
