People protest against administration

KATHUA, July 13: The residents of village Jakhbar Bugwan and Gokul Chack held a protest demonstration against the district administration and Flood Control Department for their failure to protect them from floods as the flood water has entered in their house during the heavy rainfall.
The villagers led Rashtriya Janata Dal, (RJD) president, Manohar Dogra held a protest demonstration against the Government and raised anti slogans against the authorities. While addressing Manohar Dogra, Ramesh Bhandari, Prem Nath and Kewal Krishan alleged that the rain water entered in the house of villages Jakhbar , Gokul Chack  due to over flow of local nullah near the village.
The rain water caused loss to property of poor people and the crops. They alleged that the construction work of a culvert on local nullah at Lower Jakhbar was started three years earlier. But the contractor ran away after leaving the works in middle and creating trouble for villagers. They said that Flood Control Department is not prepared to face the challenge of flood in the areas. As every year they face such situation and were put to heavy financial loss. They asked the administration to pay attention to the burning issue of villagers of Jakhbar and Gokul Chack .
