JAMMU, Dec 22: Patron of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that the present regime headed by National Conference has miserably failed to carry forward the agenda of equitable development, which was implemented by the previous PDP-Congress regime in the State. He said that four years performance of this Government appeared only papers and nothing concrete has been done on the ground.
Mufti was addressing a function to welcome former senior bureaucrat Mehboob Iqbal, a native of Bhaderwah, who along with hundreds of his supporters including prominent educationists, retired senior officers, Panchs, Sarpanchs, social workers and activists of other political parties of Bhaderwah, joined PDP today.
Calling upon the new entrants to strengthen the party by spreading agenda of the party, Mufti said that change was order of the day and people of State were looking towards PDP to change the present corrupt system. He said that PDP during its tenure had carved out a path of peace and development in the State by treating all regions and sub-region equally.
He reminded the gathering that tourist circuits to connect Bhaderwah with rest of the country were set up and separate Bhaderwah Development Authority was also constituted to establish this belt as an independent tourist destination. He, however, regretted that the present regime has failed to complete the project. He expressed his concern over slow pace of work on the Bani-Basholi-Sarthal-Bhaderwah road.
Speaking on the occasion Mehboob Iqbal said that he has decided to join PDP due to the policies and programmes of the party. He said that people of Bhaderwah have full faith in the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti. He said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has proved how to deliver good governance to the people.
