RAMBAN, Dec 22: Police arrested a bootlegger and recovered 288 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession at Chanderkote.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Chanderkote Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK05-1507.
During checking, police recovered 288 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger identified as Narinder Paul Singh, son of Tara Singh of Rafi Abad Baramulla.
A case under FIR number 65/12 under Section 48 (A) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation started.
