Gen Rawat releases 2nd volume of ‘Harsha Kakar Writes’

JAMMU, July 17:  Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat released the second volume of `Harsha Kakar Writes’, a compilation of the articles on national and global security by Major General (Retd) Harsha Kakar.
Published by `Creative Crows’, the book is also available online at Amazon and Flipkart.
It is ideal for those appearing for competitive exams and interviews as also for those seeking to enhance knowledge.
Maj Gen (Retd) Harsha Kakar is a security analyst and has been writing for a few newspapers, magazines and online newsletters. His articles span a wide spectrum covering international relations, strategic threats (both military and non-military with emphasis on South Asia), defence planning and capacity building, national security and politico-military cooperation.
Before his superannuation in March 2015 as a Major General, Harsha Kakar held a variety of appointments in every part of the country, including J&KI and North-East. He was commissioner into the Regiment of Artillery in June 1979.
He was Head of the department in Strategic Studies at the College of Defence Management, where he wrote extensively on futuristic planning and enhancing joint operations. He also served as part of the united National Peace Keeping Operations in Mozambique. In addition to training courses in India, he attended the National Security Studies Course at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto. He was the first officer from India to attend this course.
