LAHDC for improvement of power supply in Leh

LEH, July 21: Taking serious note over the frequent power breaks, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) Dorjey Motup.
The meeting was convened on the intervention of Executive Councilor Power, Gyal P Wangyal and was attended by functionaries of NHPC, officials from different wings of PDD, officers of BSNL, Airtel and PHE.
On enquiry, the engineers of PDD and Managers of NHPC disclosed that yesterday’s power failure was caused as a result of communication gap owing to poor BSNL network and they felt the acute need of alternative communication service of Airtel with these two power associates to ensure that no such lapses should be repeated in days to come.
CEC Dorjey Motup urged upon both the NHPC and PDD to keep close coordination by improving their power monitoring mechanism so that people do not suffer often particularly during the peak evening hours. CEC felt the need of holding frequent radio talks on power scenario by the experts and engineers.
Making intervention in various issues arisen between PDD, NHPC, BSNL and PHE, Dorjey Motup resolved all these variances amicably with shared consideration.
Executive Councilor Power, Gyal P Wangyal emphasized to curve out a concrete system in power and other vital services and urged for putting important information about essential service on radio for convenience of the general masses.
The suggestion for creation of a WhatsApp group of concerned departments also came up in the meeting to make the essential services more systematic.
