DDC reviews development projects in Koteranka

RAJOURI, July 21: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today conducted an extensive tour of Koteranka and reviewed physical and financial achievements on major development projects.
Accompanied by ADC Koteranka Shafiq Ahmad SE Hydraulic Mohammad Rafiq Khan, CEO RDA Dr Tahir Firdous, XEns of PWD, PHE, PMGSY, I & FC and concerned district and sectoral officers, the DDC reviewed pace of work on Ans Irrigation Project, Eco-Park at Patli Qila, Ans WSS at Kandi Gala, Rajouri-Koteranka and Koteranka-Khawas road, Indoor Stadium, Amusement Park and CHC Kandi.
The DDC inspected work on Portal 1  and portal 2 of 1.3 KM tunnel which is part of 8.3 KM long water conductor of the Ans project. It was informed that tunnel is excavated upto 148 mtr from P1 side whereas from P2 side 48 mtr of it has been readied. The project is to be completed by December 2019.
At Patli Qila, the DDC was informed the eco-park is being developed in 400 Kanals of land and estimated cost of project is Rs 5.15 cr. He inspected works on various components of Park like road, cafeteria, botanical garden, water reservoir, amusement park, entry gate, tourist huts, vermi compost unit, horticulture and floriculture beds. Issue of resettlement of few families was also discussed.. The DDC impressed upon CEO RDA to take necessary steps for preservation and beautification of years old water body in the eco-park.
DDC also inspected WSS Ans at Kandi Gala. Rs 7.49 Cr scheme comprising of rapid sand filtration plant, pumping station, two reservoirs and distribution lines is to benefit 40000 souls. It was informed that distribution lines can’t be laid as only Rs 4.98 Cr. were released so far.
The DDC also visited the site of land identified for Amusement Park and Eklavya Model School and asked the ADC to expedite the completion of revenue papers for earliest transferring/handing over of land to concerned agency for execution of work.
Later, the DDC met public deputations at Dak Bungalow to listen their grievances and issues.
