JAMMU, Dec 23: ‘Soot Na Kapas’ a new Hindi play written by Shailender and directed by Neeraj Kant was staged here today at Natrang Studio Theatre in its Sunday Theatre Series.
The play opens in the house of one Chaman Singh, who is taunting his wife and telling her to get ready fast as they have to reach his Boss’s home in time and she is much involved in preening and make-up.
The wife suggests him to borrow scooter from his friend Ramesh as this may save their time. The drama starts here, as instead of going physically to his friend, Chaman Singh goes to his home in imagination and imagines all the happenings on his own.
He finds that Ramesh is shirking to give the scooter to him and cooks false excuses. He again visits him in his imagination and tries to make him ready, but to his wonder, he is once again denied, this makes him angry and he makes another attempt, yet again in imagination only but Ramesh is a hard nut to crack, he refuses this time also.
Getting frustrated and embarrassed, he goes to Ramesh again, but this time in reality and spits all the anger on him, of which Ramesh was not even aware of.
The play very beautifully presents how our thoughts may prove wrong which end up in a situation like this.
The comedy generated in the play by hilarious situations gathered applause from the audience.
Uplaksh Singh Kotwal acted as Chaman Singh, Sakshi Prakash as Shaanti and Ashwani Bali as Ramesh.
Neeraj Kant designed the lights, Susheel Raina operated the music, Mohd Yaseen coordinated the show and Balwinder Singh did the presentations.
