Civil Engineers meet Ganaie, raise demands

JAMMU, July 23: A deputation of all J&K Graduate Engineers Association Civil led by its President Gandeep Pargal today met Khursheed Ahmed Ganaie,  Advisor to Governor and highlighted various issues of Civil Engineers.
The deputation demanded issuance of SRO for release of running grades for in-service Graduate Engineers at par with Doctors as agreed upon by previous cabinet.
Among other demands was filling up of all the vacant posts by way of promotions and promotions of degree and diploma holders to be made on 80:20 basis on available posts.
Regularization of services of engineers at all levels, review of engineering cadre and granting of Pay Band (PB)-IV to Superintending Engineers as per the directions of Supreme Court were more demands raised by the deputation.
Still more demands included filling up of posts of AEs, AEEs, XENs, SEs and Chief Engineers which are lying vacant in many department since long.
The Advisor patiently listened to the demands and assured to fulfil the same as per rules.
Those who were present in the deputation included J.S Chib (SE); K.K Magotra, Ashok Gandotra and Rajeev Gandotra—all Chief Engineers; Z.A Malik, Gopal Sharma, Anil Thapa, Ashish Bhasin, Ravinder Raina, Sumesh Hangloo, Sunil Ganjoo, Vinod Bagati, Arafat Masud, Rajinder Bali, Satish Sharma and others.
