Joint Secretary UGC visits GDC Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH, July 25: Joint Secretary UGC, New Delhi, Dr Urmila Devi, accompanied by Director Colleges Dr Zahoor Ahmed Chatt and Director Planning, Higher Education Department, J&K Government, visited Government Degree College Bhaderwah.
Principal of the college, Prof S S Bhalwal apprised the team about the current status and profile of the college through a power point presentation. The PPT was focused on the current status of college infrastructure, hostel facility for out stationed students, college land area, student enrolment, status of ongoing developmental works and possibilities of further expansion and scaling of infrastructure.
During a brief interaction with the students and college staff, Joint Secretary UGC Dr Urmila Devi emphasized on the need of boarding and lodging facilities especially for out stationed girl students to create an environment of safety and security so that they can focus on their studies without any kind of distraction. She enquired from the students about their teaching learning experience in the college.
At this, the student representatives shared their views and thoughts about the quality standards of education services being provided by the college. Her over all interaction was quite inspiring and motivational for all the students of the college.
The team visited different departments of the college and also had a view of the acquired land in the possession of the college to explore the possibilities of further expansion and scaling of the college infrastructure.
